Description

This car is a true gem. From a very early production batch (chassis #630), it was registered on November 6th, 1953 directly to the Donald Healey Motor Corporation, with license plate OAC 970. It is presumed to have been used as a demonstration car. After two weeks it was purchased by a World War II hero, Com. Richard Micaiah Towgood Peacock - submarine commander in the Royal Navy, who used it until 1976.

The car is full matching numbers in every part. RHD, Healey non-metallic blue (Healey grey), blue interiors. It is in a very good state of preservation - driver condition. It is used weekly.

I assume it was restored in the early 1990s, fortunately retaining some of the original features of some of the early 1953 cars, such as the black engine compartment. Today it would just need some minimal interventions to the doors shut lines, possibly a respray if you are interested in a flawless finish.

Mechanically, the car runs perfectly, with a very strong and reliable engine, excellent synchronized transmission, overdrive and brakes responding firmly (just refurbished).

The car comes with side screens, soft top (I believe it's the original one), tonneau cover in very good condition.

Original documents, license plate, complete original tool roll and jack; Heritage Certificate.
