This 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MkIII is a restored example of the classic roadster, with superb attention to detail in its restoration throughout, in original colours and provided fully loaded with overdrive, wire wheels, a heater plus adjustable steering column.
The car is a late Phase II example of the Healey 3000 which includes the 150BHP six-cylinder engine, a four-speed centre change gearbox, the later type chassis with added ground clearance and a revised rear suspension setup plus the additional refinement of wind-up windows, a wraparound windscreen and the pram-style easy-up hood. This MkIII is finished in Colorado Red with remarkably excellent condition original Black seats, recently replaced Black carpets and a very good condition Everflex hood with hood bag to match.
The paintwork is a fresh bare metal respray beginning in 2019 and completed in late 2020 and appears to be of a very premium finish. Throughout its exterior the car features many original details and concours-ready features often lost during restoration which have been sensitively maintained or restored painstakingly over the car’s lifetime. A pair of twin Lucas spot lamps complete a wonderful period aesthetic to a very smart car.The fact that the car has been able to retain so many of these features can most likely be attributed to its low mileage of 71,000 and further demonstrated through all original body panels which are all very straight with good gaps.
In 2021 this remains a very high-quality Healey. The car has been regularly treated to routine maintenance at a UK Healey specialist for the last seven years and having been converted to RHD by the same specialist in 2014. Tyres come direct from leading Healey provider Longstone Tyres in 2017 and are the much coveted 180XAS Michelins.
