This 1963 Austin Healey 3000 is a desirable MkIIA model built at the Austin Abingdon factory between 5-8thApril and despatched to Continental Car Distributors. Finished in Colorado Red with a Red interior with Black piping a Black Everflex hood the car wears chrome wire wheels with Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres.
Externally AKV 266A is a very well looked after Healey in very good cosmetic condition having been fully repainted from bare metal with new sills in March 2011. These restoration works were comprehensive with the previous custodian spending time and money to achieve a good finish with new wheels, tyres, chrome, door shut trims and more other small details to make this a very smart Healey.
Inside the car presents very well with Red leather seats in good condition with minimal wear overall, very good condition clean carpet plus the full complement of gold-faced early Healey Smiths instrumentation present and correct. The car is supplied with Black Everflex wet weather gear in very good condition throughout.
On the road this Healey is very rewarding to drive thanks to a full engine rebuild and upgrades by TE Enterprises in April 2011. The rebuild included a new fast road camshaft, new +60 pistons, upgraded rear oil seal, unleaded conversion, fully balanced internals plus an upgraded harmonic crankshaft dampener. The car is now fitted with a larger bore stainless exhaust and in 2014 was dyno tested at a very strong 148.8HP with 201.3 ft-lbs of torque.
