Original UK right hand drive, matching numbers 1960 Austin Healey 3000 MK1 2+2 with full logbook and Heritage certificate.

This Healey featured on the front page of Classic Car Mart in September 2010!

Purchased in 1995 and subject to a complete nut and bolt restoration over a 5 year period with a folder full of restoration photographs and numerous receipts of parts from A H Spares and other suppliers.

The engine was fully rebuilt with hardened valve seats to run on unleaded petrol and has covered only 4,000 miles in the 20 years since its restoration. It has had the crankshaft seal conversion and new engine plate kit fitted. Needless to say, there are no oil leaks. The gearbox was checked out, serviced with new fluids, cleaned and re-fitted.

The restoration included removing all original panels (wings, shrouds, etc) stripping all body work, priming and re-painting with several coats of paint to produce a deep, glossy finish.

The underside of the body - like the rest of the car has received numerous coats of glossy red paint and remains in excellent condition.Original twin carbs that are fully rebuilt and reassembled.

A pair of spare side screens (brand new in packaging) are with the car. The sidescreen storage bag is in the boot and in very good condition.

The steering box was replaced with a new one as part of the restoration.

Headlamps contain a sidelight with the old sidelights replaced with indicators. Rear reflectors were replaced with indicators and new reflectors fitted to the car.

Front suspension upgraded with poly bushes.

Both bumpers are original and the overriders are new/rechromed.

Front grille is a new part from A H Spares.

The hood was made to measure, as was all interior trim, by professional automotive trimmers in Southport, Lancashire known for their high-end classic car work. The hood is a thick, dark red canvas to match the Tonneau cover, which was also a bespoke/made-to-measure creation. The interior is cream leather with red piping, all made to measure.

The current owner also has a genuine Austin Healey hardtop separately for sale (thought to be off a BJ8) and also restored in 1995. It has a new rear window, has been re-painted in white, but could benefit from new braiding if you want it absolutely perfect, but is otherwise in excellent condition.

This car is available for viewing by appointment just outside of Barnstaple, North Devon and the seller is happy to answer any questions you may have.
