1958 Austin Healey 100/6.
Vehicle is in South Africa, Johannesburg, Edenvale, and was restored by a well known Classic restoration shop in Johannesburg 1985 for the previous owner.
It is with the current owner since then. It has good proportion and has not been modified. Currently has Jaguar gauges though and Healey gauges and dashboard will accompany the vehicle with the new prospective owner.
This particular example has the Wolsely motor thus the engine number showing the prefix W instead of A for Austin.
The vehicle is licensed on these numbers as such and all documentation pertaining to the vehicle will be presented to the prospective buyer.
Import duties and tax fees will apply to prospective buyer in the case the vehicle needs to be shipped to the United Kingdom or any other country.

The price listed includes delivery to Southampton, UK with duties paid. A South African police clearance certificate will be provided.
This is one of five Complete Knock Down Units exported in component form and assembled in South Africa.
The Heritage certificate lists engine 627, but the car is fitted with engine 625. This is due to the engines not being matched during local assembly.
The vehicle is in perfect mechanical running condition. The gearbox and overdrive was restored recently by a Healey specialist.
The car is totally authentic. The previous owner had the vehicle for 35 Years and it spent all its life in the dry climate of Johannesburg. There is therefore no signs of rust.
The chassis is straight with no signs of repair or accident damage. The car was repainted in its original factory colours a few years ago and the paint is still in good condition.
The driver's door had some repairs done, but not to an acceptable standard.
The weather equipment is complete and in near perfect condition. The upholstery was redone in blue Leather. The condition of the carpets is fair.
We are prepared to repaint the car in its original colours and to repair the driver's door for an additional £3,000 in our own high quality workshop.

For Sale: Gidget, the Peking to Paris Healey 100.
Offers invited in the region of AUD $60-65k. Gidget was the first Healey to participate and complete the Peking to Paris Challenge. We took part in the 2019 event, and were one of only 22 cars, which drove every inch of the event. We were never towed, flat-bedded or bogged. We finished in 29th place overall, 16th in class (Classic over 2L) and 5th in the European Cup.
The car is heavily modified for endurance rallying, and, let’s be honest, is never going to be a concours car. She’s a 50 footer. She looks great from 50 feet away. Not so much close up! Part of the reason for this is that, to save weight, there is no bog on the bodywork, and only one coat of undercoat, and one coat of Coronet Cream top coat. And she took a pounding on the rally, so there are a few dings and dents in the panels. But she is now solid, strong and very reliable.
She starts on the button, runs cool, stops on a sixpence, and goes strongly all day.

Fitted with a high specification engine which includes; full race aluminium cylinder head, DWR2 camshaft, triple Webber, gear reduction starter motor and roller rocker assembly.
This car is fitted with many upgrades including 4 pot brake calliper kit, six branch stainless steel exhaust manifold, stainless steel side exit exhaust, high ratio Dennis Welsh steering box, limited-slip differential, aluminium radiator, ken low cooling fan plus many more.
