Why Austin Healey radiator airflow matters in traffic

Why cooling problems often become more noticeable in traffic

At normal road speed, air is pushed through the radiator by the movement of the car. In queues, slow traffic and event-site crawling, that natural airflow falls away and the engine-driven fan becomes increasingly important.

These modern five-blade cooling fans are designed to move more air through the radiator while greatly reducing fan noise. Both versions are harmonically balanced, suitable for higher engine revs and made specifically for the Austin Healey models they fit.

That makes them particularly relevant when low-speed airflow needs attention. It does not mean every rising temperature gauge is asking for a new fan, however. Other causes of Austin Healey overheating

A five-blade fan can improve airflow, but it cannot correct every cause of hot running. It is a cooling component, not a small red or yellow wizard.
