New Listing! 1960 Austin Healey Sprite MK1 "Frogeye" | UK
After a 23 year ownership, health reasons dictate that I sell my Mk 1 Sprite.
It is totally restored from an uncorroded Californian car as per an article in the September 2016 edition of the Midget and Sprite Club magazine.
When purchased, the car was complete and very original and I have tried to restore rather than replace, where possible. Now RHD, it had a bare metal respray (as proved by photographs) and has correct parts such as steering wheel, carbs, 948cc engine, instruments, etc but with new hood and tonneau.
Finished in leaf green with green interior (as per the heritage certificate. I have fitted new wiring, brakes, carpets, trim, etc.
The brightwork has been rechromed (including the front bumper and overriders which are currently not fitted). Current MOT until September 2021.

Built in June 1956, this matching numbers Austin Healey BN2 was originally exported to Los Angeles, CA before being repatriated to the United Kingdom and professionally restored.
Finished in original colour scheme with 100/S style re-trim and new matching woollen carpets, black hood with matching tonneau cover.
Recent full mechanical upgrade to fast road 100M specification by marque specialist Richard Parker completed March 2020 to include:
Original engine rebuilt with new full steel bottom end, fully lightened, balanced and dyno-tested. Steel crankshaft with forged steel conrod set, DWM competition crank super damper, forged Omega 100M high compression pistons. Lightened flyhwheel and diaphragm clutch with up-rated linkage, aluminium baffled sump. DWM race-spec camshaft, DWM race big bore side exit exhaust system, new DWM aluminium gas flowed head (original head retained). 100M spec HG SU carburettors with gas flowed manifolds, ram stax with ATG air filter, alloy fuel tank with new facet pump. Serck motorsport aluminium radiator, electric cooling fan, 123 ignition, battery cut off switch, high torque starter. Throttle cable conversion. Original BN2 four speed gearbox with overdrive.
Lowered front suspension with up-rated front anti roll bar and 72 spoke black painted wheels. Needle bearing upgrade to steering. Louvered aluminium bonnet with Le Mans style leather strap.
Supplied with current UK-V5C registration document, Heritage Certificate, comprehensive history file, photographic record with detailed breakdown of costs. This well refined car also retains its original chassis resplendent in body colour, body and engine plates.
Superb, very fast and outstanding example of the marque. Eligible and competitive for historic motorsport events including Goodwood Revival and Mille Miglia.

5 years ago I found this Austin Healey 100/4, the car was a one owner vehicle that had only covered 25,000 miles.
Back in 1963 the car had an electrical fault that resulted in a fire under the dashboard that spread into the engine compartment. The car was pushed back into the garage to be repaired one day. Time passed and so did the owner.
I bought the car and had it shipped back to the UK from California where the restoration began. Yes it has taken over 4 years to complete this car, attention to detail was important and I will admit I am no expert on the Austin side of the Healey Motor Company, I called on advice from many Austin Healey owners to get the car back to as near original as I could.
Finished in the original combination of Sage Green with Green trim and matching hood and Tonneau cover.
The car has been subject to a total nut and bolt rebuild with many hard to find parts located and replaced. Every component has been restored.
This must be one of the best Austin Healey 100/4’s out there.
The sad thing is that it does not fit in my plans for the Healey Collection so it will be available to someone either show or drive for many years to come.

According to the Piraeus Customs Certificate, the car (of French specifications – letter F on engine number and as per Record Trace Certificate) was auctioned in Greece by the Hellenic Army Pension Fund and was customs cleared in Greece on January 9, 1973.
Vehicle Registration Document nr. 533312 from the Z’ Piraeus Customs was issued on June 6, 1975, basis the car body number.
Car remained without a license plate number until January 26, 2001, when my brother Spiro bought it. After having bought it, he paid duties and issued a proper Greek Registration document in his name as well as a Greek license plate. Before buying it, I arranged for the Record Trace Certificate 2000/6251 (British Motor Industry Heritage Trust) to be issued in my name, so that we know what we were about to buy.
Car matches all the Certificate numbers so it is a “matching numbers” car as they say in the car jargon, but does not match colour, which according to the Certificate was British Racing Green, while the car was actually red. I resprayed the car in Colorado Red over Ivory, i.e. as it appears on the photos and as is today.
Car featured black ambla upholstery, while now is featuring black leather seats instead of ambla. Two-piece rear shelf and rear side panels were original and were kept so, as they are having a nice patina. So if one wishes, basis these 4 panels, could easily bring the car back to the original ambla upholstery. He would only need to change the 4 leather seat covers with ambla ones.
There are several spare parts available, the most important of which are a factory hardtop and a NOS engine cover. On top of the 5 slightly used Dunlop RS5 tires that the car is equipped with, there is also a 6th unused one available.
Sale price is Euro 65K, way below expenses incurred to buy, restore and keep it in its nice present condition. Reason for sale is that I have been involved heavily with another English car make (Jaguar/Daimler) and I have decided to dedicate myself into this one only. So unfortunately the Healey has to go, as there are too many cars in my shed now.
