Two Weekends to Talk Austin Healeys

The classic car season may be drawing to a close, but November still has two major events in store. A H Spares will be exhibiting at Epoqu’Auto in Lyon and the Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham, giving owners, restorers and enthusiasts in France and Britain the opportunity to meet our team in person.

Perhaps you are midway through an Austin Healey restoration, gathering parts for your winter workshop projects or simply have a question you would rather discuss face to face. Whatever brings you to the shows, we would be pleased to hear about your Healey.

And for visitors heading to Birmingham, we have something particularly special lined up: Bob Hill’s recently restored Austin Healey 3000 MK3 BJ8, which will be joining us on our stand.

Epoqu’Auto 2026: Meet John and Patricia in Lyon

Our first stop takes us to France for the 47th edition of Epoqu’Auto, held at Eurexpo Lyon from 6th to 8th November 2026.

Organised by the Club Les Amateurs d’Automobiles Anciennes, Epoqu’Auto has been a fixture of the French classic motoring calendar since 1979. The exhibition brings together historic cars and motorcycles, marque clubs, specialist traders and restoration professionals from across Europe.

John Lee and Patricia Smidtas will be representing A H Spares in Hall 5, Stand X41.

Whether you are restoring a Big Healey, maintaining an Austin Healey Sprite / MG Midget or sourcing parts for your workshop, John and Patricia will be pleased to discuss your projects and parts requirements.

Classic Motor Show 2026: Back to Birmingham

Just one week after Lyon, we will be back in Britain for the Classic Motor Show at the NEC Birmingham, from 13th to 15th November 2026.

One of the major highlights of the British classic car calendar, the show brings together historic vehicles, marque clubs, specialist traders, restoration demonstrations and the ever-popular indoor autojumble.

Brian Branston, Ryan Boneham, Matt Tiller and Leanne Wheeler will be representing A H Spares across the three days, with our stand located in Hall 1, Stand 468.

With the quieter winter months approaching, it is a good opportunity to discuss those maintenance jobs, repairs and restoration projects that have been waiting for their turn in the workshop.

A Special Guest at the NEC: Bob Hill’s Restored BJ8

Visitors to our Classic Motor Show stand will have the opportunity to see something particularly close to the heart of A H Spares: Bob Hill’s recently restored Austin Healey 3000 MK3 BJ8.

Bob’s connection with A H Spares stretches back to its beginnings. The nephew of founder Fred Draper, he joined the business in 1972 and later served as Managing Director, helping develop the company into the Austin Healey parts specialist it is today.

His BJ8 has been part of the Hill family since 1979, making it much more than another classic car. Following its restoration at JME Healeys, the finished car will be on display at Hall 1, Stand 468 throughout the three-day show.

From a Family Favourite to the NEC Show Stand

There is a great deal of history behind Bob’s BJ8, both for the Hill family and for the people who have worked on the car over the years.

We have been sharing its restoration journey through our blog, following the work undertaken to return this much-loved Healey to its former glory.

Now that the restoration is complete, visitors to the NEC will have the opportunity to see the result for themselves. We will be sharing the full story of the finished car separately, but until then, we will leave a few details for those who come to see it in person.
