Share Your Austin Healey Restoration Story

Be featured in our new Customer Restorations section

We’re building a dedicated Customer Restorations section on the A H Spares website — and we’d love to feature your car.

Big Healey, Sprite or Midget. Full rebuild, long-term project, or something that escalated slightly beyond the original plan. All are welcome.

Have a different classic? We’d still love to hear from you, especially if A H Spares parts were involved along the way.

This form is the first step. Once we’ve read your story, we’ll be in touch to request photos and any additional details.

What makes a great restoration story?

We’re looking for real owner stories that other enthusiasts will genuinely enjoy reading and learn from.

  • How you found the car and what condition it was in
  • What the original plan was (and whether it stayed that way)
  • The work involved and any memorable challenges
  • What the car is like now, and how you use it

If A H Spares parts played a part in the restoration, or if our team helped with advice or support, feel free to mention that too. It helps us tell the story properly and makes it even more useful for fellow owners.

There’s no need to write an essay — just share as much as you’re happy to. A bit of context goes a long way.

We’ll take care to present your car properly and give it the space it deserves.

Editorial note: We may tidy up spelling or structure for clarity, but we’ll always keep your voice and your story at the centre of the feature.

Photo guidance (so you can prep ahead)

There’s no photo upload on this form yet, but if you can gather a small set ready, it makes the follow-up quick and we can do your story justice.

What we’d ideally love to see

  • Before: how it looked when you started
  • During: key stages (bodywork, mechanical, interior, paint, assembly)
  • Details: the interesting bits (repairs, fabrication, fitment, wiring, trim)
  • After: finished photos, plus a couple out in the real world if you have them

Quality and size

  • 6–15 photos is a great starting point (more is fine for big restorations).
  • Clear, well-lit images work best, especially for workshop shots.
  • Please send the original photos where possible (avoid heavily compressed screenshots).
  • If you can, include a mix of landscape and portrait photos.

When we contact you, we’ll tell you the easiest way to send them across. If you’ve got a few captions (what we’re looking at, what was being fixed), even better.

Prefer to email your story?

If you’ve already got your photos organised and the story ready to tell, feel free to email us directly instead.

Some restorations come with proper chapters, detailed rebuild notes, and a photo archive to match. If that’s you, we’re all ears.

Email Your Story Directly

Please include your car model, a short summary, and attach your photos in their original size if possible.

What happens next?

  1. We review your submission and read through your story properly.
  2. We contact you to request photos and any additional details.
  3. We prepare your feature for the new Customer Restorations section.

Don’t worry about professional photography. Clear phone photos are perfect, and workshop shots are often the most interesting part of a restoration.

Thanks for taking the time to share your story. We’re genuinely looking forward to reading it.
