Fitting notes and limitations

  • Confirm the car uses the heater take-off bottom hose configuration before ordering.
  • Do not over-tighten clamps on silicone. Tighten until sealed, then recheck after a full heat cycle.
  • Inspect radiator and engine spigots for corrosion or pitting that can prevent sealing.
  • Check the heater take-off connection is fully seated before tightening the 1/2 inch clip.

FAQs

How do I know if I need the “with heater” bottom hose?

If a smaller heater hose connects at the bottom hose, the heater take-off version is required. If there is no small hose connection at the bottom hose, use the no heater take-off version instead.

Is this suitable for BN1 or BN2?

No. BN1 and BN2 models use different bottom hose routing and a different hose specification.

Why does this hose use 1/2 inch clips?

The heater take-off connection uses a smaller heater hose joint, which clamps with 1/2 inch heater hose clips.

Which hose clip type should be used?

Main hose ends can use Jubilee or O.E. double wire clips. The heater take-off joint uses 1/2 inch clips. Correct sizing and even tightening matter more than clamp style.

Should clips be rechecked after fitting?

Yes. Recheck clamp tension after the first full heat cycle, especially on silicone hoses.
