On an Austin Healey 100 BN1 or BN2, the bumper over-riders are small details that have a noticeable influence on the finished front and rear appearance. Reproducing that shape accurately meant going beyond a broadly similar replacement, so A H Spares invested in new CAD-modelled, CNC-machined tooling based on measurements from the original design. Pressed from original-gauge steel, the finished over-rider restores the defined profile while helping retain the strength and low-speed impact protection intended in the original bumper arrangement.
Correct Over-Rider for Austin Healey 100 BN1-BN2
Designed specifically for Austin Healey 100 BN1 and BN2 models, this over-rider reproduces the correct BN1-BN2 over-rider profile and is supplied complete with its fixing bolt and seal.
Made by A H Panels using dedicated tooling, it combines the defined original-style profile with original-gauge steel construction and a triple-plated Premium British Chrome finish.
Tooled from the Original Over-Rider Design
The tooling was produced from a CAD model based on measurements taken from the original design. CNC machining allowed the defining features of the pressing to be reproduced accurately, including the flat top, flat bottom, centre groove, side definition and the profile where the over-rider meets the bumper.
Pressing the over-rider from original-gauge steel is important for more than visual accuracy. It helps reproduce the strength and substance of the original component, supporting the low-speed impact protection intended as part of the front and rear bumper arrangement.
